15th Meeting of the Mediterranean Group for the Study of Diabetes - Call for Abstracts

On the occasion of the 14th MGSD Congress, the Scientific Committee suggests making public your latest study results by submitting abstracts on the following topics:

  • Cognitive function and diabetes
  • Immune system and diabetes
  • Disorders of development and reproduction in type 2 diabetes
  • Education
  • Please send your abstract by email, before December 15, 2014, to: mail.mgsd@fr.netgrs.com

    The first author of each of the 15 best abstracts selected by the Scientific Committee will be granted €1500 for attendance at the congress. Other abstracts may be selected as posters or rejected.

    Among these 15 abstracts, the Scientific Committee will award THE HIPPOCRATES PRIZE to the best abstract from the north bank of the Mediterranean, and the AVERROES PRIZE to the best abstract from the south bank.

    The authors will receive an invitation to the 2017 MGSD Congress.

    In addition, they will have the opportunity to give a short oral communication during the congress, on May 8.

    Two other abstracts of special interest will also be selected and presented during this session.

    Instructions for submission of abstracts

    General information

    The first author is responsible for the abstract content.

    One form per abstract should be used. Abstracts must be submitted in English or French.

    The text of the abstract should briefly state:

    • Objectives: purpose of the study or epidemiological survey
    • Methods: protocol, type of patients, response criteria, statistical analysis
    • Results
    • Discussion: significance of the results


    We recommend you present your abstract very carefully, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted.

    Thus, it is recommended to send it as an attached file to your email, on 1 page maximum (Word format, A4, 21x29.7 cm), adhering to the following instructions:

    • margins: 2.5 – 2.2 – 2.5 cm
    • flush left
    • character size: 12

    Capitalize the entire title. Then state the authors’ names (speaker’s name underlined), institution, city and country, using initial capitals only. Omit degrees and titles.

    You will be informed by email, in February 2015, of the decision of the Scientific Committee.
